The Millennial Collective series ( mllnnl cllctv ), as it's name suggests, is inspired by the culture of our millennial generation.

Pt. 2 throws back to 90s tech, the beginning of our tech generation. It’s such a thrill to recall the fascination, excitement and novelty of having your first mobile phone; carrying a digital pet that you can feed and play with daily; stocking up on game cartridges for every new version released; listening to music through seemingly limitless MP3s instead of replaying CDs and cassettes; taking snapshots with polaroids without knowing how the pictures will develop.

With every spark of happiness you’ve found in the little things, we hope the thought-out, punny messages bring about daily reminders that beyond the tech, there were people whom we were/are connected to, and relationships being built through pixels can sometimes materialise into relationships that will last through the decades.

grow up in a hyper-connected,

continually-evolving digital world;

knowledge and information are at our finger-tips;

our curiosity satisfied in an instant.

we consume more,

contain more,

access more,

at greater convenience than

any other generation.

but what is it that we’ve missed?

instant gratification comes

at the cost of losing

appreciation for the raw discipline

of the analog;

a million songs in one pod,

we are rich in content, and yet

too poor to pay attention

to an album from start to end.

we store so much and still,

forget that the journey of discovery

is greater than arriving

at answers to questions we carry;

we grasp for anything that

remotely satisfies;

feeding our bodies to survive,

sometimes forgetting

how to live.

remind us to remember,

that even with fingertip convenience,

we must have time to dream;

we were made to wonder -

to wander into disruption

in an economy of mass-production.

we plant, we sow,

we wait,

and we grow.
