Fragments / Inspired by the idea that although persons with dementia might recollect memories in fragments, fragments can piece together to make up an unexpected beautiful.
Each handcrafted necklace features beads in different shapes and textures (including one uniquely handmade clay bead in our fragment print, and one hand-painted wooden bead), that symbolises different memories, stringed together on a waxed genuine leather cord string. Length of necklace is adjustable, simple pull to adjust length of cord.
This necklace is also lovingly put together by a 90 year old grandma who is diagnosed with dementia.

Necklaces are handmade, please understand that no two are identical, and each has its own imperfections that gives individual character to every piece. Wooden bead is painted with non-toxic water-based acrylic paint. As they are fragile, please treat with care. Necklaces are subjected to limited quantities per design.
Please note that necklaces are made with wooden and leather components, hence would be best to avoid direct contact with water. Necklaces that are gold-plated/have gold-plated parts and are prone to tarnish. To reduce chances of wear and tear on the gold-layer and to expand its lifespan, avoid contact with chemicals (substances such as perfume, oils, nail polish removers and even lotions may react with the metal). To clean, it is advised that you use cotton balls/a soft jewellery cloth and rub gently.
This necklace is part of the xhundredfold “Forget-You-Not" initiative ( #forgetyounot ). It was started to remember those in our midst who live with dementia and other neurologically impairing conditions.
“Forget-You-Not" hopes to shed light on the stories of persons with dementia and their caregivers, and to sow seeds of empathy, strength, hope and love in support as they choose and seek to live well in spite of their impairment.
25% of all proceeds from the Forget-You-Not range of products go to funding creative programs and activities, that aims to empower, and act as a form of therapy, for persons with dementia and their caregivers.
